We hope you are keeping well and are enjoying the weekly updates. This week’s edition focuses on “Bits & Bytes” from the past week.

“Bits & Bytes”

  • The Senior Footballer’s Leinster Senior Football Final match arrangements were confirmed during the week. The fixture will take place on Sunday 1st August at 4pm in Croke Park. Match programmes will be available to purchase on match day via dbapublications.ie
  • The GAA have released videos re spectator safety when in attendance at fixtures in the coming weeks. All match goers are encouraged to wear face coverings at venues and to adhere to the Covid Guidelines!
  • A number of 2020 Haven Hire Hurling Championship Finals are taking place this weekend. Tomorrow Saturday sees Sarsfields & Maynooth contest the Junior Hurling Final @ 5pm in Conleth’s Park with the Intermediate decider between Maynooth & Naas taking place on Sunday @ 4:30pm.
  • The EMS Copiers Senior Football Leagues are drawing to a conclusion with Div1 and Div2 round robin competitions completed. In Div1 Raheens & Sarsfields qualified for the Final with Johnstownbridge & Round Towers relegated to Div2. Clane & Eadestown are both promoted from Div2 with Sallins & Ballyteague dropping down to Div3 for 2022.
  • The Senior Hurling Leagues are also ongoing with Div1 nearly concluded. Confey qualified for the Final when beating Ardclough by 10 points on Tuesday evening. They will play the winners of Coill Dubh & Éire Óg Corra Choill who play their Semi-Final on Wednesday next.
  • Croke Park issued a further Covid update re Quarantine after Travel abroad. Where quarantine after Travel abroad is a government requirement, it is essential that all of our members adhere to the relevant advice – as such, if a player, coach or member of the Association participates in a training session or game in contravention of quarantine rules in the relevant jurisdiction, they may be dealt with under Rule 7.2 (e) “Misconduct considered to have discredited the Association” (minimum 8 week suspension).
  • The GAA & the RNLI are asking everyone to #RespectTheWater. If you are heading to the coast, riverbank or lake this weekend please be mindful of the Water Safety Tips. If you see anyone in trouble to dial 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
  • Planning continues to move forward ahead of this year’s 50th anniversary Féile Competitions. The John West Féile na nGael (Hurling / Camogie) is scheduled for August 21st with The John West Féile Peile na nÓg (Football / Ladies Football) the following week, August 28th.
