“Bits & Bytes”

  • The UPMC Senior Hurling Championship Preliminary Round was played in both the Senior & Intermediate grades last weekend. There were wins for Celbridge, Confey, Naas & Ardclough who will now compete in the Winners A group with Coill Dubh, Clane, Leixlip & Éire Óg Corra Choill in the Looser Group B group.
  • The Joe Mallon Renault SFC & the Auld Shebeen Bar Athy IFC Preliminary Round fixtures will be played this weekend in St Conleth’s Park, Manguard Plus Hawkfield & Conneff Park. Tickets are now on general sale for all games on the following link https://embed.futureticketing.ie/c/kildare-gaa/?ftredirect=1 – Please note all fixtures are ticket only events.
  • The 2021 Senior Hurling League Final pairings are now known. Coill Dubh will take on Confey in the decider next Tuesday night 17th August @ 7.30pm in Manguard Plus Hawkfield. This will be a ticket only event. Best of luck to both Clubs.
  • The last of 2020 Covid delayed CCC fixtures were completed last night when the Haven Hire Minor Hurling Championship Finals were played. Congratulations to Maynooth who beat Naas in the “A” decider and Celbridge who beat Sallins in the “B” decider.
  • Kildare GAA Club Draw will take place in September & October this year. Each ticket bought will assist your Club with projects they are completing. Contact your local Club to purchase your ticket or alternatively you can purchase online https://member.clubforce.com/kildareclubdraw2021
  • The Kellogs GAA Cúl Camps are nearing their conclusion for 2021. It is fantastic to see over 8,500 children attending camps across the County during the Summer months. Many thanks to David Murphy who coordinated all the coaches and Kildare ambassador Jimmy Hyland & Paul Divilly who paid special visits to each of the camps offering advice and answering questions. The future is certainly looking good.
  • The Annual Club Kildare Golf Classic tooke place last Friday in the beautiful surroundings of Kilkea Castle outside Castledermot. Many thanks to Boran Packaging who were the main sponsors. Congratulations to All Spares Kildare who were the winning team with a score of 53.5
  • The GAA & the RNLI are asking everyone to #RespectTheWater. If you are heading to the coast, riverbank or lake this weekend please be mindful of the Water Safety Tips. If you see anyone in trouble to dial 112 or 999 and ask for the Coast Guard.
