Two second half goals from Colin O’Shea and Paddy Donoghue helped put the seal on the 2-10 to 1-12 success as the club sealed their first title win in the grade since 1972.
Prior to those second half goals, Suncroft had them on the backfooot and even led at the break with an Eoin Magee goal putting the underdogs into a decent position.
Fionn Dowling landed eight points in total as Suncroft threw everything at the winners and if his last gasp two pointer attempted free had gone inside rather than outside the post then Suncroft would have pulled off a sensational victory.
Milltown ultimately held on for an emotional win and since the title success they’ve also accounted for Mostrim of Longford as they got theor Leinster campaign up and running last weekend.
The club is back in action on Saturday November 14th when they entertain Mullinavat (Kilkenny) or Duleek Bellewstown (Meath) in the Leinster Quarter-Final at Cedral St Conleth’s Park at 1.30pm.
