The destination of the Hugh Campion Cup has been forced to wait a week as Milltown and Suncroft get set to face off in the National Electrical Wholesalers Intermediate Football Final replay this Saturday night.
The two clubs met in a cracking encounter last Sunday as they played out a 1-12 apiece draw with Fionn Dowling’s last gasp two-pointer free ensuring the teams go again.
Former Kildare star Dowling was the star of the show for Suncroft as the rank outsiders put in a massive shift and with full-back Danny Morgan also finding the net, they almost held on for a shock success.
Milltown struggled for long periods of the county decider but with the midfield partnership of Joe Dunne and Conor Sheerin scoring 1-7 between them they looked like they had worn their opponents down until Dowling kicked over the equaliser.
The replay takes place in Cedral St Conleth’s Park at 6.30pm on Saturday evening.
