On Thursday, August 31st, we said goodbye to a great friend and true Kildare Gael, Lorcán O’Rourke.
Amongst a host of different roles over the years, Lorcán had been a member of the Kildare GAA PR team for the past ten years.
He was instrumental in the preparation of Match Day programmes and his knowledge of the GAA and history, were second to none!
Lorcán won an All-Ireland Hurling medal with Kildare in 1966 and was the GAA National Handball Administrator in the 1990’s.
He served as Club President in his own Club, Moorefield GAA.
Kildare GAA County Board extend our sincere condolences to Phil, Aoife, Enda and the entire O’Rourke Family, on the passing of Lorcán.
It was an absolute honour to know Lorcán; he will be sorely missed and fondly remembered.
One of life’s true gentlemen.
