Athletic Development Coach — Paid Internship
Multiple Positions Available
Kildare GAA are inviting applications for Talent Academy Athletic Development Intern Coaches, working with both Gaelic Football and Hurling squads for the 2026 season.
The successful candidates will join the Kildare GAA Talent Academy Athletic Development Team under the guidance of the Kildare GAA Coaching Team.
Details
- Location: Kildare GAA Manguard Plus Centre of Excellence, Hawkfield, Newbridge
- Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am–1:30pm
- Term: July to October 2026
- Remuneration: Paid position
Requirements
- Working towards or holding a qualification in Strength and Conditioning, Sport Science, Physical Education or a related course.
- Eligible for Garda vetting.
- Hold a current Safeguarding 1 — Child Welfare & Protection Basic Awareness Workshop certificate, or be available to complete (which we will provide).
Educational Output
Successful candidates will gain experience in:
- Athletic development programming and coaching.
- Monitoring, testing and profiling of players.
- Recording and analysing data.
- Implementing recovery protocols.
- Working within a high performance team.
- Coach education (GAA Athletic Development Level One Youth Course, GAA Coaching Award Courses, Coaching Workshops, etc.).

The selection process will include an interview and practical demonstration.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June 2026.
