IN the eighty three renewals of the Leinster Minor Hurling
championships, Kilkenny have been champions on 53 occasions. That is
the pedigree that Kildare go up against this Saturday when they face
the standard bearers at Minor level in the province in St Conleth’s
Park, Newbridge (2pm).
While some teams might freeze at the thought of facing a Kilkenny side
looking to bounce back from their defeat to Wexford in the last round,
this Kildare side are relishing the challenge.
Team captain Shane Nolan, who has already won a Keogh Cup with the
Kildare Senior side and played in last year’s All Ireland under 21 B
semi-final victory against Kerry admits that Saturday will be one of

Getyourself down to Hawkfield centre of Excellence tonight, as Kildare host their open night commencing at 7pm.

This is your chance to meet your hero's and have the oppurtunity of getting photographs and autographs.

KFM will broadcast live from 7pm and will also do the draw for round 2 of the Club Championship at 7.30.

we will have a facepainter, Brady's Ham sambo's, the GAA Roadshow inflatable pitch and target pratice. and we will have a few freebies for the Kids. Football and Hurling panels posters for autographs.

How Hawk-Eye Point Detection Technology Works

The new Hawkeye point detection technology for both hurling and football at Croke Park will be first utilised on June 1 at the Leinster GAA Football Senior Championship quarter-final double header.

Hawkeye provides real-time imagery on the stadium's big screen of a ball's trajectory over the posts to remove any ambiguity over whether a point was scored or missed.

Cadbury have announced the shortlist for their GAA Football All-Ireland U21 Championship Hero of the Future 2013 Award.

All-Ireland-winning captain, Fiontán Ó Curraoin, is one of three Galway players among the six nominees, along with team-mates Ian Burke and Shane Walsh.

Runners-up Cork are represented by forward Brian Hurley (pictured above), who scored 1-4 in the final defeat to Galway and finished the competition with a very impressive haul of 2-18.

The Carew Family will present the new senior hurling championship cup " The Tony Carew Memorial Perpetural Cup" to the Hurling Board this Friday May 17 th at 8 o clockst a reception in St Kevin's GAA Clubhouse. A meal is being provided and the Carew family would like to invite two representatives from each hurling club to the event. Please wear your ckub colours.

Tony Carew passed away late last year and was a much loved member of the Kildare hurling and GAA family. He represented club and county in both codes before going on to be a distinguished referee.

The Kildare senior hurlers will have to take the long way around to the Christy Ring semi-final with a tense clash against Wicklow in this weekend's quarter final encounter set for Arklow this Saturday (May 18th) at 3pm. A beleaguered Kildare will only have seven days to turn around their misfortunes after a crushing defeat in extra-time against rivals, Meath, in St Conleth's last Saturday afternoon (11th May.) The week's preparation will also have to commence without the expertise of suspended talisman, captain and top-scorer, Paul Divilly. Recent reports have suggested that the Confey man may only serve a one-match ban and could be available for selection if Kildare progress through to a semi-final stage. But Wicklow await yet. Kildare, Dublin, Meath and Westmeath were the winners of today's Leinster MFC quarter-finals.

Kildare produced a dominant performance at Newbridge as they eased past Offaly by 3-11 to 0-5. The Lilywhites gained a stranglehold on the game when Tommy Cribbin netted the opening goal to leave them 1-6 to 0-3 infront.

Offaly were left with a mountain to climb by half time as they trailed by ten (2-7 to 0-3).

Kildare GAA Open Night "Meet your Hero"

Kildare GAA Will hold am Open Night on Friday 17th May in Hawkfield Centre of Excellence Commencing at 7pm.

Members of the Kildare senior Football and Hurling Panels will be in attendance as will members of the Management teams.

The U21 Leinster Champions will also be there on the Night along with the Leinster Trophhy.

This event is FREE and is open to everybody to attend, and a chance to meet your Hero's and get a photograph.

Kfm Radio will broadcast live from the venue, we will have a face painter, the GAA Inflatable pitch and shooting Practice goal, Brady's Family Ham will also be in attendance with samples of their products. And there may even be a few free goodies for the Kids !!!!!
